Heidi Klum's Top 5 Halloween Costumes

Nobody does Halloween like Heidi Klum. You've probably all seen these costumes on celebrity costume articles, lookbooks, inspiration boards, etc. I am anxiously awaiting to see what her next move will be. They aren't sexy, but they definitely are unique.

If Heidi has taught us anything, it is to go all out, and don't be afraid to be unique. Also that if you have a lot of money, you have nothing better to do. Halloween is one week away, so get thinking, and be creative.

TREND ALERT : Menswear Inspired

I use trend lightly, because things like blazers, button downs, and trousers are always in style, and you can always find oversized, or "boyfriend" jeans, cardigans, etc. However, they are extremely hot right now, and will also be hot going into spring/summer next year. So if you don't have some borrowed-from-the-boys pieces in your wardrobe, now is a good time to invest. Here are a few looks that have been inspiring me lately.

I love the shorts suit look, and will definitely be picking one up come spring. Also, how perfectly effortless but still put-together is Miranda Kerr's look (bottom right)? She's perfect.

STREET STYLE : Cara Delevingne

This girl is fabulous, I love her style, and obviously her brows are to die for. Makes me wish I still had the overly bushy eyebrows I was teased for in grade school.

So we all strive for that perfect model-off-duty look, and unfortunately we can never truly get it unless we look like models... but we can try. Cara has such great style, it is sort of on the grungier/edgier side of classic off-duty look. Here are a few of my favorite Cara looks.

Cara Essentials:
1. Leather Jacket
2. Biker Boots
3. Skinny Jeans
4. T Shirts (White and Graphic!)
5. Beanies

MAKEUP MONDAY : Sephora by OPI Break a Leg Warmer

I am in love with grey nails lately. This polish in particular is gorgeous, and I just happened to have it. Around the holidays, Sephora comes out with nail polish sets, and I always get them for Christmas. It is such a fun way to get lots of colors for your collection. Obviously grey is huge for fall (and this coming spring), so wearing it on your nails is also very trendy.

RECAP

This week went by pretty quick. I didn't even realize that I didn't post this yesterday... And now today is almost over too. What am I doing with my life?

YOUTUBE : The new YDAD cracked me up, per usual.

MUSIC : Pretty much still listening to BANGERZ on repeat, but this Miley song she recorded at the beginning of year, is fantastic.

FOOD : Kathleen got her big this week, and she's been bringing baked goods. She made homemade chocolate. Like, shut up.

Also, I've been addicted to fashion Instagrams and blogs a lot this week. I can't even begin to list my favorites. Why can't I have unlimited money?

The Messy Lob

I cut my hair not too long ago, and now it is approximately chin length, with lots of layers. However... I want to grow it out to be slightly longer. The "lob". The celebrity that I thought of immediately was Alexa Chung. Her hair is literally perfect. My hair has similar texture, so I am thinking with a little bit of styling, and the proper cut, I could somewhat emulate her. Here is some inspiration.

I am also still loving the ombre hair... But is it over?

Zara Flats

So, I broke my toe. It's a great time. And in response, I first cried that I won't be able to wear heels/wedges for a while, and second, went on a search for some new flats.

Of course, I turned to Zara.

Do you think it is justified? Otherwise, I am doomed to wear converse for the next few months.

SHOESDAY TUESDAY : Waterproof Leather

It rained for like almost a week straight, and I was not about it. Also I hate my rain boots, so being forced to wear them was a drag. I came across these Cole Haan waterproofleather boots, and I am in love. However, not so much with the price tag. Maybe if I can catch them in a good sale? Seriously, such a good investment. Beautiful and practical. Pretty much what Cole Haan stands for.

TJMaxx Online

I am literally freaking out over this. How did I not know that TJMaxx opened up an online shop a couple weeks ago? It's beautiful, and in honor of me finding out, I picked out a few of my top picks.

That Elizabeth and James jacket though. Dying. Also can we tell I have a thing for metallics right now? Perfect for fall.

RECAP

I got a job! Finally! I am going to work at Lush, which I am super excited about. You may be seeing some product reviews in the future. So look forward to that!

MUSIC : Miley Cyrus! BANGERZ is ridiculously good. I would list the song's that I love, but I have been enjoying the entire album. If you haven't listened to it yet. Do it. Right now. Also, this. How fabulous is she?

YOUTUBE : I have been loving the Hello Style channel, specifically Sophie Sumners' segment, and the Sexy vs Skanky show.

FOOD : I think I have been obsessing over omelets lately... I've had three this week. Calm yourself, Brynna.

TELEVISION : The Vampire Diaries is back! Yes! Also, The Originals started, and it is equally amazing. The worst thing is that Caroline and Claus can't be together now that they are on separate shows. Not okay with it.

BLOG : This isn't really a blog, but the ShopStyle featured shops are so great. You can subscribe to their website and get daily emails about new/popular shops. It can get a little repetitive, but the new ones are great. Sure, there are $3000 dresses featured, but there are also $30 shoes. Something for everyone.

But let's be honest, my biggest favorite is BANGERZ. It is just that good. I literally cannot stop listening to it. On repeat. Seriously, go get it now.

Halloween Outfits

Instead of posting this closer to the actual date, I figured this was better suited further out. It gives you time to get the essentials you need! If you are looking for something a little more unique, and are willing to spend the money/time, here are a couple sources that I am a huge fan of. First, Rent the Runway (which in general I am a huge fan of) came out with their Halloween outfit ideas, and I think the list is fantastic. So here are some ideas for you. Also American Apparel always knows what's up with their outfit ideas, some are so creative.

Since in college Halloween is actually Halloweekend, I have a few costumes lined up. Minnie Mouse, Boo (from Monsters Inc), a Beanie Baby cat, Rosie the Rivetor... and I am probably going to need one more. Seriously considering copying that Miley Cyrus VMA look. Too much?

LOOK FOR LESS : Rag & Bone Fedora

Current obsession: the wide-brimmed fedora's at Rag & Bone. I literally just go into the shop and go over to the hat rack to try them on. Hats just look so cute with my new short haircut. I want all of the hats. Especially these fabulous Rag & Bone ones. Eventually I want at least one of these, but a cheaper option will have to suffice for now. Insert Urban Outfitters. These popped up in the shop a couple weeks ago and I freaked, on they look really similar. Not going to lie, online they look quite different, but definitely check them out in story if you are interested.

SHOESDAY TUESDAY : Over the Knee Boots

These are huge right now. Very of-the-moment. It is interesting that these weren't extremely forecasted for the fall, but in the past week they have been blowing up the blog-isphere. A bunch of bloggers have looked flawless in them, but we all know who wore it best....

Andy Sacks in the Devil Wears Prada. Obviously.

Probably her most iconic look in the entire movie... Maybe aside from the lumpy blue sweater. Just kidding. Those Prada boots though.

So where can you get your hands on some fabulous boots? The answer is everywhere. Nordstrom is featuring a over-the-knee boots shop right now. There are a few options at Zara as well. Here are my top picks, for flat (Vince Camuto) and  heeled (Sam Edelman) options.

I don't think I am going to give in on this trend... It seems very momentary. While yes, a classic black pair can be used in later seasons, to me they seem very dated when not in style. However, fashion always repeats itself.... even the harem pants

LOVING : Zara Leather

Obviously I love Zara, and obviously I love leather, and of course Zara has been pushing out some gorgeous pieces for the fall. Two that stuck out, their leather pencil skirt and leather shorts. These I would wear year-round, and would go with everything.

$49.90
$59.90

Also leather pants... leggings... mini skirt... skater skirt... jacket... dress... can I have them all?

RECAP

A little late, I know. I didn't do a recap last week because I really didn't have anything to recap. I am just doing the school thing. I started writing for HerCampus, so I'll be sure to link when I have new posts up. Also, I finally finished my room, so I will probably be taking pictures or a video soon to showcase it.

Also, kind of a in-the-works project, but I am starting a fashion magazine at AU, with the help of about 10 people so far. It's really exciting, and I hope things go smoothly!

YOUTUBE : I really have been loving fashion videos, and I loved Evelina's latest video on fall essentials. These are my favorite types of videos, because I try to mostly buy classic pieces/essentials, that I can mix and match.

MUSIC : The third Miley Cyrus single that I have loved, 23 (with Mike Will Made It).

BLOG : There are a couple new blogs that I started following, and I can't believe I never found them before this week.

Damsel in Dior

Tuula Vintage

@chiaraferragni @imninagarcia #PFW

So in addition Chiara, I also included a few videos from Nina Garcia's instagram, to fill a few holes that Chiara missed. These are my favorite Paris fashion week shows. Can we just talk about how fabulous Marc Jacob's last Louis Vuitton show was? Oh my god.

Viktor & Rolf | Kenzo

Celine | Saint Laurent

Chanel | Louis Vuitton

So basically Chiara is the beautiful The Blonde Salad, and her life is everything I wish mine was. Of course she had the invites to all of the best runway shows. So today I posting a few of my favorites from Milan Fashion Week, and tomorrow I will do Paris.

Emporio Armani | Missoni

Versace | Gucci

Roberto Cavali | Giorgio Armani

SHOESDAY TUESDAY : ShoeMint Fall Boots

I've been a big fan of ShoeMint for a while now, and their new collection is nothing less than fabulous. I am also always a sucker for ankle boots.
