INSPIRED : Aria Montgomery

In honor of Pretty Little Liars last night, I thought I'd do a little post on Aria Montgomery, who's style is definitely my favorite on the show. She has very eclectic style, and isn't something most people would think to put together. So if you are trying to emulate Aria, here are my top tips.

1. A leather jacket. Aria is constantly shown in her leather jacket (with silver accents), but occasionally she's seen in cargo-style jackets, or the very trendy varsity jacket.

2. Boots. Aria loves her boots, usually ankle boots, but also knee-highs. The leopard print booties I picked out are exact shoes that Aria has been seen wearing a few times. She also was spotted in some fabulous neon yellow Jeffrey Campbell's, which are unfortunately no longer sold. Any statement booties would resemble Aria's footwear.

3. Statement jewelry. From a crazy spider necklace, geometric statement necklaces, and mis-matched earrings, Aria has been seen wearing it all. Grab your craziest jewelry, and pile it on. Don't be afraid to go overboard, the crazier the better.

4. Legwear. Sometimes more subdued knee high socks, and sometimes printed tights and leggings. She loves using legwear to add an unexpected twist.

5. Printed dresses. Aria loves mixing girly dresses with edgy accessories and outerwear. She wears a lot of floral dresses, but printed dresses in general will echo her style.

6. Skinny jeans. When Aria isn't rocking a dress, she will usually be seen in some kind of jean. Forget plain denim, get bright and printed pairs. Along with the jeans she usually wears an edgy printed t-shirt.

7. Dark nail polish. To top off your new Aria look, paint your nails a nice dark color, might I recommend OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark?

8. Just have fun! Aria doesn't follow rules, and wears things that are out of the box. Go crazy, mix prints, patterns, colors and textures.

I might continue this post, and make a little Pretty Little Liars series. But then again, I am not as crazy about anyone else's style. We'll see!

SHOESDAY TUESDAY : Jeffrey Campbell Puffer Spike Sandal

This is a great everyday sandal, something a little more exciting than a standard flip flop or even a regular jelly sandal. The spikes give it something a little more. However, for something that would just be a beach sandal for me, $135 is pretty pricey. I found this pair from Missguided, and it comes in black, gold, and grey.

MAKEUP MONDAY : American Apparel Neon Yellow Swatch

This has easily been my favorite nail polish this summer. Excuse the slight chipping, this is day three of wear. I did two coats, however one coat is thick enough to cover the nail. I have two other American Apparel neon nail polishes, and this is my favorite for wear and consistency, I'll be sure to swatch the other two the next time I wear them. The best part about these neons is that they sort of glow under club lights, which is always fun. This color specifically changes color under different lightings, sometimes more yellow, sometimes more green, like a true chartreuse. If you are on the hunt for a good neon yellow, I would recommend this one. It is also a steal at 3/$15.

RECAP

Thing's I've Been Loving:

YOUTUBE : British YouTubers! Two in particular, Alfie (PointlessBlogTV) and Marcus (MarcusButlerTV). I love Marcus' intro, and how adorable is Alfie? Even though I want Alfie to be with Zoe (Zoella) #zalfie.

 #malfie just saying.

MUSIC : Bonnie McKee's new song. I found her by sheer luck on vevo, the day her single was released, and fell in love. Come to find out that she has written for major singers in the industry, including Katy Perry, Taio Cruz, Ke$ha. She's already gotten a ridiculous amount of hate, which just proves how big she is going to be soon.

MOVIE : So this week I got into a car accident, it wasn't anything too serious, but I am a little sore. So to make myself feel better, I watched Devil Wears Prada. Probably my all time favorite movie, which I always watch when I am not feeling well. Probably because the whole lifestyle is exactly what I want in life. You can easily find it online, if you want to watch it as well!

TOP PICKS : Kimonos

Kimono inspired sheer cardigans are very in this summer and give the perfect bohemian touch to any simple outfit. They would look great at a music festival, with a crochet crop top, shorts, and a flower crown. They would also look great over a plain white tee and some jeans. They also can be transitioned into fall with a jacket or cardigan over top, and with denim pants rather than shorts.

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

There are different price ranges and colors here, I went for the black Forever 21 option, I like the length... and the price. $20! I picked it up this week, be sure to stalk your local Forever 21. I am also eyeing the ASOS stardust kimono, for a little extra color to an otherwise simple outfit.

LOOK FOR LESS : Karen Walker Super Duper Strength

Karen Walker makes some very nice sunglasses, and the Super Duper Strength is one of my favorites. I don't know about you all, but $280 is a high price to pay for a pair of sunglasses. They have been out for a while, and therefore are fairly easy to find inspired versions. Zero UV is one of my favorite websites to find designer inspired sunglasses, and at the ridiculously low price of $10-15 (with most priced at $10). Also free shipping! You can easily find most of these styles on eBay, but I find this website easy to navigate and consistent. Look around, I'm sure you will find something that strikes your fancy.

SHOESDAY TUESDAY : Jeffrey Campbell Heels

I am such a die-hard Jeffrey Campbell fan, and this year he has put out a lot more classic heels. Take this with a grain of salt, these heels are still very out of the ordinary, very unique and not something you could just get anywhere, but they do have a classic shape to them.

All of these heels come in different colors and textures, but these ones stuck out to me. While I probably wouldn't be able to walk in most of these, you know what they say, fashion isn't about function. However, any of these would sure make a statement with a simple little black dress, and would work nicely year round.

SALE PICKS : Nordstrom Anniversary

Shopping addicts, like myself, look forward to this sale every year. While we can't all afford to get a beautiful designer handbag, even at half price, there are some lower end options that get even cheaper. I'm not going to lie, there are heaps more items that I love in the sale, but these are just my top picks. Can you tell I love accessories?

I'm sorry, but how amazing are all of these picks? Why can't I have unlimited money? Mostly the Michael Kors watch is taunting me. It's been on my wishlist for ages, and I am very tempted to buy it at such a great price. But nonetheless, I am still pretty broke, so I don't think I can. If you are interested in any of these amazing pieces, as well as any others in the sale, you better snatch them up quick!

Also, while that Pour la Victoire bag is pricey, doesn't it sort of look like a mash up of the Celine Luggage and Trapeze bags?

RECAP

It has been a pretty lo-key week, cleaned out the garage on Sunday, took the pets for their rabies shots Tuesday, shot pool with some friends on Wednesday, and a club in Waikiki on Thursday, Playbar. I am babysitting tonight, and hitting up a new club, Soho, with some girlfriends tomorrow night!

Thing's I've Been Loving:

My blog! Obviously I just launched my blog, and it's pretty exciting.

I got a babysitting job for the Fall 2013 semester! Yay! Now to apply for some work study jobs...

YOUTUBE : sunbeamsjess, my new favorite YouTuber. Here is her most recent video, fab right?

BLOG : Nasty Gal Blog, so great.

MUSIC : Bridget Mendler's new album. Particularly the songs 'Blonde' and 'Hurricane'.

FOOD : Went to my favorite little Italian restaurant here in Honolulu, Ricados, probably for the last time. I am really upset that I forgot my leftovers, though! I will say that if you are in the area, it's worth checking out.

MOVIE : House Bunny! I can't believe I never saw it until now, it was hilarious, and I love Anna Faris, Emma Stone, and Kat Dennings. "Can I just get one Mahi, because I'm not that hungry." The link is for a place to watch it online (shh don't tell!), but I thought this one worked great!

OMBRE HAIR

This has been in style for ages, was particularly hot last summer, but I never made the jump. I always appreciated the ombre hair, even dreamt of it on my head, but the thought of bleaching my hair terrified me. Well I bought a kit. I am ready to dye it, I just don't know how. I wanted to get some assistance from a friend, but the timing hasn't worked out too well. I am patiently waiting to bust open that box and becoming aluminum foil head. Well half-head. So to feed love for ombre, I have been looking at the many celebrity icons that I will be emulating. Here are some of my all-time favorites!

I imagine mine will look similar to Alexa Chung's, maybe a little blonder.

GET THE LOOK : Miley Cyrus

I am sure we have all seen the infamous new Miley Cyrus music video for We Can't Stop. If not, take a few minutes to watch it here (you'll want to watch the whole thing):

So it's one of those things where you love it or you hate it, and I love it. It is so unexpected, unique, daring, and visually entertaining. From a filmmaking perspective, it's great. From a fashion side, also pretty great. While I personally don't have the confidence to wear what Miley dons in the music video, if you've got it flaunt it.

'M' Gothic Necklace, 'Nastasya' Sunglasses, Dope Swimsuit, West Coast Crop Top, Beats Pill, Golden Triangle Swimsuit, 'Lady Danger' Lipstick, Gold Rings, Jumper Suspender Bikini Bottom

Definitely lusting after the West Coast top, the Tom Ford sunglasses, and let's not forget the Beats Pill, that was featured at the beginning of the music video. As for makeup, Miley rocks the red lip all the time, and the one in the video has a little bit of orange in it, which is very on trend for the summer. I loved Miley's makeup at the Oscars viewing party earlier this year. Also in this picture you see her with the bob haircut, I personally preferred that. As much as I loved her miles long hair (shameless pun), I also loved the bob, but I'm not digging the pixie. What do you think?

SHOESDAY TUESDAY : Zara Sale

For my first ever shoes-day tuesday entry, I figured I would feature some fabulous shoes at an even more fabulous price. It's the semi-annual Zara sale, and everything on the website is on sale, including their shoes. It's no secret Zara makes some nice heels, along with their other shoe styles. While we'd all love to get those classic ankle strap heels that Zara has made so famous (a la Saint Laurent), that bloggers everywhere are rocking, we will definitely settle for their seasonal picks. If you are interested in these styles, snatch them up quick because the sale isn't going to last forever!

Act quick if you want these babies, and look out for my next Shoes-day Tuesday, a day perfect for fellow shoe addicts.
